Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) is a uncommon
desease that may cause since mild syntoms like hoarseness
or dysphonia until severe syntoms like laryngeal disnea,
this can put in danger the life´s patient. This desease is
caused by human pailloma virus. The treatment of choice
is surgery but for prevent the recuency many diferents
drugs has been used, suches like Ribavirin, Acyclovir,
Isotretinoin and Interferon, all with diferents outcomes.
The aim of this study is to asses the benefit of the intralesonal
infiltration of Cidofovir linked to mycrosurgery as
treatment for RRP. All patients that presented RRP, were
retrospectively analyzed since October 1998 to January
2014 in the H.C.U. Lozano Blesa. To be included in this
study, the patients had to present repeated mycrosurgey
by RRP. All patients underwent mycrosurgery with CO2
laser with posterior intralesonal infiltration with Cidofovir
2.5mg/ml. A resolution of the disease was present in 70%
of the patients and increasing time was observed from
the recurrence periods. With this data we conclude that
Cidofovir linked to mycrosurgery as treatment for RRP is
giving a promising approach.
